The firm also announced it is hosting a public information drop-in evening on Wednesday, 18 October, from 3-7pm in the Clanna Gael Fontenoy GAA Club, to discuss the works.
The project is expected to commence in the coming weeks and will involve the replacement of ageing cast iron water mains that are prone to leakage and regular bursts which can cause interruptions to customer’s water supply.

The Sandymount water mains replacement project is part of Irish Water's national Leakage Reduction Programme which over the next four years will reduce the high level of leakage across the country by fixing or replacing ageing water mains.
The project will be carried out on a phased bases and is estimated to take approximately 12 – 14 weeks to complete. The first phase of the project will involve the replacement of ageing water mains and shared backyard service connections along Gilford Drive, Gilford Park, Gilford Road, Gilford Avenue, Lea Road and Lea Crescent, Sandymount Castle Road, Sandymount Castle Drive and Sandymount Castle Park. The second phase of the project will commence in January 2018 and will involve the replacement of water mains and shared backyard services along Sandymount Road, Seafort Avenue and Wilford Park.
