Site Investigation Work To Start On Sewer Network In Drogheda

Site investigation work is to begin on the sewer network in Drogheda.

Irish Water will carry out the work from Monday, 10 July, to Friday, 21 July.

The work will allow the firm to complete the detailed design requirements to upgrade the sewer network.

The scope of the site investigation work includes a combination of open trenches, bore holes and trial pits on Greenhills Road, Shop Street, Constitution Hill, Patrickswell Lane, Linnen Hall Street, Caramelite Cottages and Loughboy West. Once the proposed project to upgrade the network is complete it will reduce the volume and frequency of flooding in the areas and ensure the network complies with environmental requirements. The upgrade works will also improve the capacity of the network to help facilitate future development in the area.

Irish Water has written to all residents and business owners to advise them of the work that is taking place. Road opening licences have been granted by Louth County Council for the work to take place.
