Dixons Contractors in Ballymena has been awarded a deal with Choice Housing to complete a £1.1 million overhaul of 15 homes in Portrush, Co Antrim.
The largest element of the works over the next 14 months involves the replacement of kitchens, heating systems and electrics alongside building upgrades at 10 units in Ramore Court.
A series of comprehensive re-modelling works will also convert the previously shared accommodation into fully refurbished self-contained one and two-bedroom flats. The programme will also include modernisation of homes on Mark Street and Eglinton Street.
Michael McDonnell, Group Chief Executive of Choice said: "We are continually investing in our housing stock to ensure customers have comfortable and suitable homes that they are proud of. These timely improvements are the latest part of a multi-million improvement scheme aimed at bringing older units up to a higher standard. The refurbishments will make a real difference for residents improving their comfort and living environment.
"It is important for Choice to work with partners who share our values and priorities. Dixons Contractors impressed us with their professional approach and capacity to deliver a high-quality product for our tenants. We are pleased to be getting work underway and look forward to completing this programme of work next spring."
Declan McKendry, Managing Director at Dixons Contractors said: "This is an exciting contract win that marks our 17th contract with Choice and cements our position as a competitive and trusted partner in the housing sector. Our experience in commercial, public and private sectors underpins all aspects of our service delivery. We have the right calibre of staff to manage this project sensitively. Choice and its tenants can have confidence in our expertise, attention to detail and finish quality."
