SDLP Raises Concerns Over Planning Notices

The SDLP has raised concerns that Belfast City Council planning notices will no longer appear in local newspapers.

Cllr Tim Attwood confirmed the notices will not appear in the Irish News, Belfast Telegraph and Andersonstown News.

He said it is "vital" local residents and communities have ready access to planning notices.


Mr Attwood said: "I appreciate that there has been a tender process undertaken in relation to planning notices but I will be asking questions about the tender process to ensure it was as open as possible and seek reassurances that the needs of local residents to have ready access to information about planning issues in the Belfast City Council area was central to the process.

"Given the importance of the Belfast Agenda and Local Development Plan for Belfast and local neighbourhoods, it is essential that local planning applications are as visible and widely accessible as possible."
