Significant Progress Made On Water Mains Rehabilitation Project In Fermanagh

Construction News Image
Significant progress is being made on a water mains rehabilitation in Co Fermanagh.

NI Water is investing around £2.8 million in the scheme located in the Rossory area, which includes replacing a section of water main along Old Rossory Road.

Works on the Old Rossory Road are nearing completion, and Drumee Road is closed to through traffic, however access for local residents is being maintained at all times.

Access to Drumee Landfill and Recycling Centre is via Monea Road until such times as the traffic restrictions on Drumee Road are lifted, which is expected to be in late April.

A spokesperson from NI Water said: "This road closure will largely impact on vehicles travelling with an intention to by-pass Enniskillen town via the B81 Monea Road and A4 Sligo Road. Motorists in the area who would normally use the B81 Ashwoods Road and Drumee Road for this purpose are advised to travel through Enniskillen, utilising the A46 Shore Road past the 'Round O' and along the A4 Sligo Road from the bridges and vice versa.

"Approximately another two weeks of essential watermains rehabilitation work will follow on the Monea Road – any traffic restrictions and diversions will be signposted."
