Call For Govt To Publish Correspondence With Executive Over RHI Scheme

The SDLP is calling on the British Government to publish all of the correspondence with the Executive in relation to the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme.

SDLP MP for South Down Margaret Ritchie also described the the First Minister's speech in the Assembly on Monday, 19 December, as "arrogant and "self-serving".


Ms Ritchie said: "The people of Northern Ireland deserve nothing less than all the facts pertaining to this scandal. That is why I have used my position as an MP to seek publication of all correspondence and communication that took place between the Treasury and the then Department for Energy and Climate Change regarding the RHI in Northern Ireland, to help us establish who knew what and when.

"I will make public whatever response I receive from the Government and will continue working with my party colleagues in the SDLP to pursue every avenue possible to hold the Executive to account."
