Springhill Primary School caters for 180 pupils and previously had no outdoor play space, particularly for its play group and pre-school children.
However, the Department of Communities allocated the funding for the scheme which will improve facilities for younger children.

Communities Minister Paul Givan said: "By funding these types of schemes, the Northern Ireland Executive through my Department continues to invest in the improvement of disadvantaged neighbourhoods. I am determined these areas will become more attractive places in which to live, work, play and invest. Of course, schemes like this do not happen on their own and this project is an excellent example of the public sectors coming together to deliver benefits for this local community, in this case between my Department and the Education Authority."
