PAC 'Project Eagle' Hearings To Resume

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) is to resume its hearings into the sale of the National Asset Management Agency's (NAMA) Northern Ireland loan book.

Known as 'Project Eagle', the portfolio consisted of Northern Irish loans and properties and was sold at a fraction of its initial £4.5bn value.

In a statement, PAC said officials from the Department of Finance will appear before the committee as part of its hearings on the Comptroller and Auditor General's report on the controversial sale.


The Comptroller and Auditor General will also give a response to the evidence heard to date.

Committee Chairman Seán Fleming said: "We will continue our series of meetings on the Comptroller and Auditor General's report on the National Asset Management Agency's sale of Project Eagle.

"It will be an opportunity for Members to put some questions to the senior Department of Finance officials in relation to the sale of the Northern Ireland loanbook. We will also be hearing from the Comptroller and Auditor general in relation to the evidence heard to date."
