Old Watermains To Be Replaced In Ballyedmonduff And Glencullen

Irish Water is replacing old watermains in Ballyedmonduff and Glencullen to improve the security of water supply for over 1,250 customers.

The firm is investing €200,000 to upgrade the Burrow Road Reservoir and Ballyedmonduff Water Treatment Plant.

Work commenced on 19 September and is expected to be completed in November.


The project includes the installation of three new pipes along Vard’s Lane and the decommissioning of an aging water main along the Lane. Vard’s Lane will be fully reinstated once the work has been completed. Upgrades will also be carried out at Ballyedmonduff Water Treatment Plant which include the decommissioning of an aging water intake pipe and the installation of new operational equipment at the plant and at Burrow Road Reservoir. The work will deliver a more robust and secure water service to customers and enable Irish Water to more efficiently manage the water supply for the areas.
