Over £479,000 Secured For Minor Works At Primary School In Co Antrim

A primary school in Toomebridge, Co Antrim, has secured £479,480 for minor works to be carried out.

St Oliver Plunkett's school was allocated the funding under the Department of Education's minor works scheme.

The funding will also be used to replace a single mobile unit with a double unit.


Education Minister Peter Weir said: "Recent capital funding of £479,480 has been made available to St Oliver Plunkett's Primary School, Toomebridge to replace a single mobile unit with a double one.

"It is estimated that over £51 million will have been invested in the minor works programme in the 2016/17 financial year. This investment will enable improvements to be carried out across the schools estate, positively impacting on pupils, teachers and school staff."

Minor works are projects less than £500,000 and range from minor improvements to more significant projects and extensions.
