Call For Extension Of Planning Permission On Moore Street To Be Rejected

Sinn Féin is calling for planning permission on Moore Street to be rejected after it was revealed it may be extended for the proposed 'Dublin Central' Chartered Land Development when it expires in 2017.

Cllr Mícheál Mac Donncha tabled an emergency motion at a meeting on Monday, 13 June, requesting that an extension of planning permission not to be granted as it would "clearly be in breach of the High Court judgement on the extent and importance of the 1916 battlefield site".


He said: "Our motion says the City Council views with grave concern the indication from Council management that extension of planning permission may be granted for the proposed 'Dublin Central' Chartered Land Development on the 1916 battlefield site, including the National Monument as recently defined in the High Court judgement.

"We are also very concerned at reports that the Government is to appeal the High Court judgement."
