Watermains Work Gets Underway In Central Belfast

NI Water has started essential works in the Shaftesbury/Botanic Area of Belfast as part of the ongoing Watermains Improvement Scheme in Central Belfast.

The work is part of a wider ongoing investment in the watermains infrastructure across Northern Ireland and is expected to be fully completed by Autumn 2016. 


Works will be carried out this week on Bradbury Place, Botanic Avenue and Donegall Pass. Throughout the summer months, work will then continue on Great Victoria Street and the wider Shaftesbury area.

Due to varying traffic management requirements, some sections of work will be completed at night in order to minimise disruption. Traffic management and signage will be in place in all areas as necessary to inform the public in advance of the work. Appropriate measures will also be taken to ensure the safe passage of road users and pedestrians.
