New Dáil Housing and Homeless Committee To Discuss Homeless Crisis In Ireland

The new Dáil Housing and Homeless Committee have scheduled a meeting on 26 April to discuss the homeless crisis in Ireland.

The Environment Minister Alan Kelly has also been invited to the meeting.

Sinn Féin TD for Dublin Mid-West Eoin Ó Broin, who is one the Committee, said: "I am very pleased that the Committee agreed to invite the Minister for Environment Alan Kelly to the next meeting scheduled Tuesday April 26.


"Given the scale of the crisis, it is incumbent that the Minister attends. It would be unfortunate if he used the excuse of ‘prior engagements’ to avoid coming to the committee.

"The Committee also agreed to invite submissions from the public and to host a number of focused, solutions orientated sessions.

"The sessions will focus on different aspects of the housing and homeless crisis including homelessness, social housing, private housing, private rented housing, housing finance and NAMA."
