The new Victoria Park Primary School, located in the Sydenham area, is the first new school building to be opened since the Education Authority was formed in April last year.
First Minister Arlene Foster MLA, who attended the official opening, said: "Today's children are tomorrow's leaders. They are our future and they are the reason why I feel so proud of Northern Ireland and why I am determined to make this a better place for all our young people.

"The school is a valued part of the local community I know that this school will provide everything that its pupils need in terms of their education but also a warm and encouraging environment in which to foster their talents."
Education Minister, John O'Dowd, said: "As I look around today, the enthusiasm and commitment of the teachers and school staff is clear to see and I hope this wonderful new school building enhances that passion as the school moves to a new chapter."
