Castlereagh Firm To Refurbish Bridge In Co Tyrone

A firm based in Castlereagh, Belfast, has been appointed to refurbish a bridge in Co Tyrone.

Highway Barrier Solutions (HBS), on behalf of Transport NI, is to strengthen and refurbish Verners Bridge in Tamnamore.

The firm will start the work in mid-March and it is expected to be completed in June 2016.

The work includes strengthening, refurbishment and painting of the existing steel structure.

Regional Development Minister Michelle McIlveen said: "This is a major investment for the local area. Verners Bridge on the Tamnamore Road is an important link road for local access and is in close proximity to the M1 motorway. The old bridge will be sympathetically restored enabling it to be used for many years to come."
