Construction Work Begins On L'Derry Sports Facilities

Construction work on new £2.8 million sports facilities in Co L'Derry.

The Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure is investing £2.5million, while Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council is contributing £339,000, for the new facilities in Dungiven.

The new facilities will include a pavilion with dance studio, sports hall, gym, changing rooms and kitchen, while the complex will incorporate a floodlit 3G pitch.

The complex will also bring together on one site the sport and leisure facilities for the town and surrounding area.

Work is expected to be complete by the end of the 2016/17 financial year.
