The minister will examine proposals to renovate Cairnshill Primary School.
Sinn Féin MLA Máirtín Ó Muilleoir welcomed the announcement.
He said: "I am cheered by news today that Minister O’Dowd is looking at the feasibility of ‘making a further major capital investment announcement of projects to proceed in planning in the primary sector before the end of the current mandate’ and that the Minister has asked officials to include Cairnshill among a limited number of priority projects for consideration."

"While of course there can be no guarantees from limited budgets, I am committed to continuing to lobby for a new school for Cairnshill to ensure the standard of accommodation is on a par with the top-class education delivered to children in the school."
