SF Hits Out At Comments Over A5 Project

Sinn Féin said it is "absolutely ludicrous" that the upgrade of the A5 Western Transport Corridor will only benefit one side of the community.

West Tyrone candidate Grace McDemott described it as "one of the most important infrastructural projects" in Ireland.

Mrs McDermott said: "It would help transform the economy of the entire north west region, particularly Tyrone, Derry and Donegal.

"It is absolutely ludicrous for anyone to suggest the A5 upgrade would only benefit one side of the community.

"Such comments show just how out of touch with reality David McNarry and UKIP are.

"The reality is that the A5 will benefit everyone, particularly businesses right along the route."
