€50,000 Announced To Protect Heritage Sites In Meath

A total of €50,000 is to be made available for conservation works to be carried out at heritage sites in County Meath.

The money is part of a new national scheme called The Built Heritage Investment Scheme.

Fine Gael Meath West TD, Ray Butler, made the announcement and confirmed the council is now inviting applications for funding.


The closing date for applications is Monday, 7 December.

Mr Butler said: "Groups can apply for a maximum of €10,000 and the minimum amount will be €2,500. Applicants will need to provide matching funds to the value of 50% of the grant.

"I strongly encourage local groups to apply for this heritage funding. The Council says that they will give priority to projects that are small in scale and labour intensive."
