Ecocel Cellulose Fibre Insulation

Ecocel cellulose fibre is the only insulation manufactured in Ireland from locally sourced raw materials i.e. recycled newspapers.

Ecocel cellulose due to it's low embodied energy in the manufacturing process added to sourcing it’s raw materials locally makes it Carbon Negative when installed.

80 m2 house insulated with Ecocel will sequester 320kgs of Carbon over the lifetime of the building.

Ecocel due to it's natural fibres performs up to 40% better as a thermal insulater than fiberglass and rock wool:

These man made fibres are manufactured with high embodied energy and are imported, so the transport adds to the already high carbon in the manufacturing process.

Ecocel natural fibres make it Hygroscopic thus allowing it to take in vapour moisture and release it, thus creating a healthy indoor air quality.

Ecocel’s ability to deal with moisture ensure’s it has the lifespan of the building unlike man made fibres which cannot deal with moisture thus reducing their lifespan.

Interior walls, party floors and walls.

Ecocel can be used to retro-fit existing attics which contain degraded fiberglass and rock wool.

Ecocel due to the added fire retardants can help to contain a fire.

Canadian studies show a timber frame insulated with fiberglass is 20% more dangerous than no insulation,

Whereas timber frame with cellulose is 30-50% safer.
