The application is seeking permission for a new advance technology building, consisting of office and light industrial / production space.
Fine Gael TD for Sligo Leitrim, John Perry welcomed the news.
He said: "As part of the Government's Regional Action Plan for Jobs, IDA Ireland is rolling out a 5-year €150 million capital investment programme to help attract more multinational jobs into each region and Sligo is one of the areas targeted. This vote of confidence in Sligo by the IDA is really good news for the county's economic development.

"There is so much potential for Sligo to continue to grow and prosper. Recently we had the welcome announcement that an additional €1.1 million is to be allocated for local roads in Sligo and Leitrim. If economic activity is to increase in Sligo, investments such as this are crucial to ensure we can cope with the increased demands placed on our local infrastructure."
