Minister Urged To 'Bid For Money Now' To Fund Expansion Of Magee

Sinn Féin is calling on the Minister for Employment and Learning to bid for money now to fund the expansion of the University of Ulster at Magee.

MLA Maeve McLaughlin said it must be included in the Comprehensive Spending Review.

The Foyle MLA said: "Stephen Farry had previously indicated that he would bid for money for the expansion of Magee in the Comprehensive Spending Review and that needs to happen now.

"The expansion of Magee is a vital part of the regeneration of Derry and the wider north west and must go ahead.

"I will also be seeking a meeting with the recently appointed vice chancellor of the University of Ulster, Professor Paddy Nixon, to discuss the need for expansion."
