Building Work Begins On £1.52m Sports Hall

Construction work has started on a £1.52 million sports hall at Saintfield High School in Northern Ireland.

The project was approved in March 2014 to be carried out under the School Enhancement Programme (SEP).

Education Minister John O'Dowd said: "This is a good day for all the pupils and staff at Saintfield High School. The new sports hall will make a huge difference to the school community.


"Continued investment in our schools estate is essential if we are to help support our teaching staff to deliver a quality education to our children and young people.

"In these difficult financial times, when the capital budget is limited, the School Enhancement Programme is an important means of refurbishing and making the most of the existing schools estate. Projects such as this also provide a much needed boost to the local construction industry."
