Students are being invited to represent the all-island electricity sector at the EURELECTRIC conference 2015.
Sponsored by energy firm ESB, the EURELECTRIC is the sector association which represents the common interests of the electricity industry at a pan-European level. This year's two day conference 'The Consumer Powered Energy Transition' (1-2 June), will focus on the transition to a European customer-centric energy market.
Students from all EURELECTRIC member countries can compete for the EURELECTRIC Student Award 2015 but they must be sponsored by their national electricity association. The winning Electricity Association of Ireland (EAI) entry will be short-listed for the EURELECTRIC Student Award and invited to attend the conference in Berlin, where the overall winner will be announced.
EAI Chief Executive Owen Wilson said: "The Conference typically attracts senior executives from the energy industry and European and international organisations. The EURELECTRIC Student Award is an integral part of the conference programme and provides a fantastic opportunity for young people from across Europe to engage with the electricity sector."
The EURELECTRIC Student Award winner will be expected to present his/her short paper to an audience of around 400 delegates at a formal award ceremony during the conference.
Students must have a student card to enter, and be aged 27 years or under. Students are invited to submit an A4 page essay entitled: 'Dinosaurs of the past or innovators of the future? Designing digital strategies to engage domestic customers.'
Entries should be submitted to rachael.mullins@eaireland.com by Friday 27th March.
