Boiler Replacement Scheme To Be Extended

£2 million is to be invested to extend the Boiler Replacement Scheme in Northern Ireland for another year.

The scheme, which has helped boost the construction sector, was due to finish on 31 March 2015.

Since the scheme was launched in September 2012, 18,500 boilers have been replaced and more than 2,000 installers have carried out installation work.


Social Development Minister Mervyn Storey said: "Replacing an old and inefficient boiler can save households from £250 to £300 per year, but the financial savings are not the only benefit.

"Living in a warmer home contributes to your health and wellbeing and is vital for some of the most vulnerable in our society."
