Homes Affected With Mica Need To Be Examined - FF

Fianna Fail is urging the Environment Minister to set up an expert panel to deal with homeowners affected by Mica.

Donegal Deputy Charlie McConalogue affected homes need to be examined to make recommendations to the Government as to how the situation should be addressed.


Deputy McConalogue commented: "There is an onus on the Department of the Environment and Minister Kelly to ensure that these homes are tested to establish where the problem lies. These investigative tests can cost thousands of euros, money which these families do not have. If the Minister refuses to intervene, these homeowners will be left high and dry, living in houses that are structurally unsound, without any means available to pay for repair work."
