Groundforce recently invited the local community to join them and their neighbours Bann Hire, for a family fun day and BBQ at their newest depot in Lisburn, Northern Ireland.
Despite the challenging weather conditions those that braved the elements to come along still managed to enjoy a fun-filled day. Whilst the children splashed about on the bouncy castle the adults tried their hand at the digger driving competition, which certainly brought out the competitive streak in some. David Cousins, a local contractor, won the event with the most impressive time.
This was followed by an excellent BBQ which was organised by Bann Hire, who also provided the marquees. There was also plus plenty of local cider to sample, kindly supplied by Maclvors in Armagh.
As well as fun element, there was also the opportunity to view the piling and excavations products demonstration which took place during the course of the day, with experts on hand offering technical advice on how to operate and install the equipment.
Liam Brew, General Manager of Groundforce said: “We would like to thank everyone who came along, it was really great to see so many here despite the weather, not only our employees and their families but also people from the local community.”
This latest Groundforce depot which is located in the Knockmore Business Centre, Moira Road, Lisburn, is providing the construction industry in Northern Ireland with the most wide ranging and modern fleet of equipment for shoring excavations, trenchless pipe installation and testing pipes.
As well as stocking Groundforce’s innovative proprietary shoring equipment there is also be full range of complementary products and equipment available, including, specialist bracing and lightweight trench shoring solutions, pipe stoppers and trenchless technology products, together with an extensive range of site safety equipment.
Since opening their depot in Portlaoise seven years ago Groundforce has grown to become one of Ireland’s leading specialist hire companies, and is already the market leaders in the supply of specialist bracing and hydraulic struts.
To facilitate its increasing customer base in Northern Ireland Groundforce needed to be able to offer easy access to their complete product range, this meant opening a dedicated depot in the North. They chose Lisburn due to its convenient location - close to junction 8 of the M1, providing excellent access to the motorway network.
The Vp group now have three locations in Ireland following the recent opening of the ESS Safeforce branch in Kildare. There are also future plans to open a dedicated depot for ESS Safeforce in Northern Ireland as the business grows.
