Three-Hotel Portfolio To Sell For €30m

Three landmark hotels in Kilarney and Cork City are to be sold for €30m, according to property specialists Savills Ireland.

Three hotels form part of Ireland’s first hotel portfolio sale for almost a decade. The sale comprises three hotels and 400 bedrooms in Cork City, Kilkenny City and Killarney locations. The hotels include The Malton Killarney, Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel and the Metropole Hotel Cork.

The Malton, Killarney (former Great Southern Hotel) is a four star hotel with 172 bedrooms set in twelve acres of gardens. The hotel has been trading for over 160 years. Facilities include restaurant, bar, lounge and wine cellar and conference and banqueting facilities. The leisure centre has a 15m swimming pool, gymnasium and spa.

Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel is a four star hotel with 118 bedrooms in the heart of Kilkenny City. Facilities include O’Reilly’s Bar and Restaurant, Savour Restaurant, conference and banqueting facilities with 10 meeting rooms over two floors and a leisure centre with a 21m swimming pool, gymnasium and spa. The sale also includes the Ormonde Street Car Park with 712 car parking spaces over eight levels.

The Metropole, Cork is a three star hotel with 112 bedrooms located within Cork city centre overlooking the River Lee. The hotel dates from 1897. Facilities include the Met Bar, The Riverview Restaurant and Waterside Café. The hotel has conference and banqueting facilities, while the Leeside Leisure Centre includes a 20m swimming pool, gymnasium and aerobics studio.
