According to the developers of the project, the 6,000sq ft store and filling station is expected to open on the Belfast Road later this year. Opening in September, it will provide a number of services including a hot food bar, deli and a butchery, as well as car parking for more than 70 vehicles.

Nigel Maxwell, of Musgrave Retail Partners (MRPNI), is quoted as saying: "This new SuperValu store represents a significant investment for MRPNI in Crossgar with the creation of a large number of jobs for local people.
"With the store's key location on the main road between Downpatrick and Belfast it will provide an important service to passing trade as well as the local community."
