The competition aims to inspire people to use less energy in their daily lives. The winning team created an economically friendly board game aimed at primary school pupils, where the player will get rewarded for completing everyday tasks to help people be more energy efficient.
The students beat stiff competition to win the coveted prize as almost 1,000 students from 68 schools submitted campaigns to this year’s One Good Idea competition. The judges commended first year students Katelyn McCarthy and Jamie Mulqueen for the imagination and passion they showed throughout the competition which was showcased on Friday, 16th of May, in the Mansion House, Dublin.

Competitors must use all their creativity and ingenuity in designing campaigns based around their one good idea for energy saving. Brian Motherway, CEO of SEAI, today presented the winning students with fantastic prizes including €750 for their school and a tablet device for each team member.
Brian Motherway said: "These students are making a big difference in their schools and communities byhelping to raise awareness of energy and climate change issues in clever and imaginative ways. It's thanks to the enthusiasm and drive of the teachers involved that so many students from schools around the country have joined in."
