Rosemount Residents Urged To Have Their Say On New Traffic System

SDLP councillor Shauna Cusack has urged the residents of Rosemount and the surrounding areas to make their voice heard by responding to a DRD public consultation to introduce a one way traffic system along Park Avenue to the junction of Rosemount Roundabout.

Ms Cusack said: "The issue of traffic congestion has plagued both residents living along this route and the side streets for a long time, but also for those using it as a through road towards Creggan and beyond.'


"Due to the age and architecture of Rosemount as a settlement, designers had no concept of how society would change especially the explosion of road vehicle usage. Streets simply were not built to accommodate what we currently experience in this area. However what suits one person as a viable solution may cause inconvenience or disturbance another."
