McAvoy Group Unveils Off-Site Building Techniques

The Football Association's new facility at St. George's Park in Burton-on-Trent is now a showcase for off-site construction specialists the McAvoy Group.

The County Tyrone company has unveiled the very latest in innovative off-site building techniques at the prestigious training ground in a bid to promote the benefits of this type of construction to football clubs all over England.

The McAvoy Group hope this will lead to clubs embracing the off-site build concept as a economic and efficient way of providing facilities for their players.

The Northern Ireland off-site specialists have provided multi team changing facilities including referees and meetings room at the Staffordshire site thanks to a £100,000 grant from Sport England with the balance coming from The FA. The design and construction was in strict compliance with Sport England's Design Guidance Notes.

The 330-acre site, incorporates 12 football pitches, including a replica of the pitch at Wembley, and a Hilton Hotel complex with 228 rooms. The site is used by 24 England teams and a host of other professional and local community clubs.

The move, which is backed by Sport England, will provide the McAvoy Group with a platform to demonstrate the innovative nature of its off-site buildings.

Peter Browne, of the McAvoy Group, said: "Having one of our exemplar buildings at St George's Park is an excellent way to demonstrate to visiting clubs what is available to them.

"The Football Association invests in grass roots football facilities all over England, so it is a real coup for McAvoy to be able to showcase the type of modern, comfortable facilities we can provide for other clubs."

The McAvoy Group won the contract with the Football Association as a result of being on Sport England's framework for Innovative and Modular Building Solutions.
