SSE, the UK and Ireland's broadest-based energy company has announced that it is unveiling SSE Airtricity as the new brand name for its energy supply and energy services businesses in Ireland and Northern Ireland.
The new SSE Airtricity brand replaces the existing Airtricity brand.
From today, SSE Airtricity is writing to each of its customers to introduce the new name for its energy supply and services business. The new SSE Airtricity brand is also being unveiled across all regular customer communications as well as across company websites, digital apps, sponsorships and community activities.
Unveiling the new brand name, Stephen Wheeler, Managing Director of SSE Airtricity said: "With the Airtricity brand we've transformed how Ireland generates and uses energy for the better. We've invested €2 billion or around €1 million a day in delivering a greener energy infrastructure in Ireland and Northern Ireland.
"We employ over 1,500 people across the island doing everything from helping customers with questions about their bills to generating clean green renewable energy.
"We've brought energy savings totalling over €80 million so far to our customers in the Republic and savings of over £17 million so far to our Northern Ireland customers. And we've done more than any other energy provider to revolutionise the customer experience of the energy market for the better. Quite simply we've been proud to make a difference.
"This new development builds on our unique heritage as Airtricity while demonstrating the positive energy that SSE is investing here in Ireland to deliver a sustainable energy future for generations to come.
"Most importantly under our new brand name SSE Airtricity we'll continue to deliver the exceptional customer service, brilliant innovation, greener energy and great value that our customers have come to expect."
