Eirtech Aviation To Begin Painting The Former Alitalia Paint Hanger

Clare Senator Tony Mulcahy has welcomed the announcement by Shannon Airport-headquartered Eirtech Aviation that it will shortly begin painting aircraft in the former Alitalia Paint hanger at Rome's Fiumicino Airport.

The Shannon-based Senator said the Rome facility brings the company's number of dedicated aircraft painting locations to four, with over 20,000 sq metres of hangarage.

Senator Mulcahy congratulated the company on what he called "an ambitious business expansion programme that has further consolidated its position as an important employer in the Mid West Region".

He continued: "Under the leadership of CEO Niall Cunningham, the company has made considerable progress since the management buyout of Lufthansa Technik Painting Shannon in 2009.

"Before this week's announcement, the company has expanded through the establishment of a base at Dublin Airport increasing the Companies capacity by 150% and further expansion followed through the acquisition of two new purpose built hangars in Ostrava, Czech Republic adding a further 100% capacity to the original Company."
