Traffic Lights To Be Installed At Springtown Road Junction

SDLP MP Mark Durkan, MLA Mark H Durkan, and Northland Councillor John Boyle have welcomed the installation of traffic lights and a new slip road at the junction of Springtown Road and Foyle Springs Road.

The party has been lobbying the Department for Regional Development to introduce these measures for many years in order to make the busy junction safer for drivers and pedestrians.

Mr Durkan said: "This long sought for system will be welcomed by people living in the Foyle Springs area and the many road users who travel through this extremely busy route.

"Having lobbied the current Roads Minister and his predecessor to bring forward these measures, I am delighted to finally see this project come to fruition. Not only will this improve road safety for drivers and pedestrians, it will also hopefully ease traffic congestion in the area."
