NuTech Renewables, based in Warrenpoint, has benefited from Invest Northern Ireland's Innovation Voucher scheme to produce its patented and award winning solar heating system for the renewable energy market in Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland.
The Co Down firm's Solar Enhanced Ventilation System is targeted at domestic and commercial customers across Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland. It was developed and tested using the know-how and experience of not just its own engineers but also that of experts at the University of Ulster's Centre for Sustainable Technologies in Jordanstown.
The Solar Enhanced Ventilation System allows energy from the solar panel to heat a hot water cylinder and feed heat directly to a living/working space. The ventilation system can also regulate the balance of fresh air and recycled air to minimise heat loss.
Speaking about his experiences, Mark Forkin, Managing Director of NuTech Renewables said: "The introduction of Government grants and incentive schemes which encourage businesses and homeowners to install energy saving, low carbon technologies presents an enormous opportunity for our company.
"For the last two years we have focused on refining this product and completing independent research to demonstrate its efficiency. Invest NI's innovation voucher scheme has been invaluable to our progress to date. Our aim is that this Solar Enhanced Ventilation System will offer a readymade solution to customers availing of initiatives such as the UK Government’s Green Deal and Renewable Heat Incentive scheme."
