Roads Minister Danny Kennedy has announced the start of two road resurfacing schemes totalling £260,000 on the A509 Enniskillen to Derrylin Road.
The first scheme costing £130,000 at Drumgallon starts from the roundabout on A4 Sligo Road and extends to the junction of Old Rossorry Road. The preparation work on this site starts on Monday 8 July. This preparatory work continues for two weeks and during this period the road will remain open and traffic control will be in operation.
The main resurfacing work will require the road to be closed for a period of one week starting on 22 July, signed traffic diversions will be in operation for this period.
The second scheme also costing £130,000 involves resurfacing of the carriageway at Main Street, Derrylin from the mini roundabout at the Ballyconnell Road to the public toilets, a distance of 500m.
The preparation work on this scheme starts on Monday 22 July and will continue for one week. During this period the road will remain open and traffic control measures will be in operation. The main resurfacing work will require the road to be closed at night from 7pm to 7am on the following dates 29 July to 1 August inclusive and 5 August to 8 August inclusive.
The Minister said: "Both these schemes will result in improvements to the road surface on these sections of the A509.
"Roads Service has carefully programmed the work operations and traffic management arrangements in order to minimise any inconvenience to the public, however road users should be aware that some delays are to be expected and should allow additional time when planning any journeys."
