A Northern Ireland company today revealed details of a lucrative contract with one of the world’s best known hotels, The Savoy in London.
McCue Fit-Out, which employs more than 120 people, was appointed main contractor for overhaul of the luxury venue’s new art deco inspired restaurant, Kaspar’s Seafood Bar and Grill. It is the latest stage of a two-and-a-half year refurbishment of the 124 year old venue, which regularly counts royalty, world leaders and Hollywood legends on its guest list.
The Savoy boasts 268 bedrooms and suites. Kaspar’s Seafood Bar and Grill is the latest part of the renovation and is named after the Savoy’s cat, a 3ft high sculpture which accompanies diners of 13 to stave off bad luck.
Les McCracken, managing director of McCue Fit-out said he was delighted to work with one of the finest hotels in the world.
"This was a high profile project and we were pleased to be associated with such an important restaurant. The Savoy is an iconic venue with a rich heritage and this project was a great opportunity for our team to show our capacity and capability to deliver to the very highest of standards.
"The McCue Fit-Out team has completed a number of creative projects within the hospitality and leisure sectors in recent years. The Savoy however, offers ultimate luxury from the outset and it’s great to know that a little piece of Northern Ireland will be enjoyed by guests at Kaspar’s for years to come."
The project is a vibrant new design inspired by the hotel’s glamorous past. Brass railings, stylish mirrors, silver leafed ceiling, luxury marble flooring and glass columns are just some of the features that diners will be able to experience during their visit.
Kiaran MacDonald, the Savoy's general manager, said: "Not only in its name does Kaspar’s keep alive the wonderful history that this four legged friend brought to the hotel almost 100 years ago, but as an informal, yet chic brasserie style restaurant it will also meet the demands of today's regular diners."
In the last two years, McCue Fit-Out secured a string of contracts in London’s luxury hospitality sector completing fit-out projects for the Berkeley in Knightsbridge and Mayfair-based duo Claridges and the Beaumont. McCue Fit-Out has also finished hotels for the Malmaison and Radisson groups and bespoke spa projects DW Sports.
