Upgrade Work Begins At Queens Street And Malcolm Rd Junction

Roads Service has announced that the Queens Street and Malcolm Road junction and its approaches are to be resurfaced as part upgrade work to the traffic signals at this junction.

The resurfacing forms an essential part of the maintenance of this key network junction.

Roads Service has coordinated this work and the necessary temporary traffic management arrangements to minimise inconvenience to the public as far as is possible. To this end road and lane closures have been scheduled to take place on four successive evenings beginning at 6.30pm on Monday 20 May through to Thursday 23 May 2013.


A spokesperson for DRD said: "During these periods Malcolm Road will be closed from its junction with Queen Street to its junction with Millennium Way, while High Street and Queen Street will be restricted to a single lane in each direction. Local diversions will be in place.

"Access to Robert Street will be maintained, though motorists are asked to avoid the area if at all possible or to allow extra time for their journey as delays are expected at these times."
