Regional Development Minister Danny Kennedy has announced the start of a £330,000 major resurfacing scheme on Kernan Loop and M12, Portadown.
The resurfacing is from Northway to the M12 and will include works on the M12.
In order to help minimise disruption to traffic on this busy route, the works will be carried out over three weekends in May extending from Friday 10 May until Monday 27 May. The weekend closures will all last from 6:30pm on Friday evening until 6:00am on Monday morning.
The initial road closure will be from Friday 10 to Monday 13 May. Kernan Loop will be closed from Northway to Carn Roundabout and through traffic will be diverted via Seagoe Industrial Estate.
During the weekend of 17 May to 20 May, Kernan Loop and the Portadown bound lane of the M12 will be closed. Through traffic to Belfast will be diverted via Seagoe Industrial Estate but Portadown bound traffic on the M1 motorway will be required to leave the M1 at Junction 10 (Lough Road, Lurgan) and follow the signed diversion route to Portadown.
During the final weekend of the works from Friday 24 May to Monday 27 May the M12 will be closed in both directions and all M12 traffic will be required to use the signed diversion routes between Portadown and Lurgan.
