The Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland's (SEAI) eighth annual two-day business to business event, The Energy Show 2013, excelled expectations this year with 3,300 visitors – an increase of 18% on last year's event.

The event, which took place at the RDS in Dublin, hosted 170 exhibitors along with multiple networking events, seminars and live retrofit demonstrations.

Patina Lighting was crowned the 'Overall Product of the Show' Award for its LED Commercial and Cleanroom range of lighting. The Product of the Show Awards recognise, reward and encourage the development and introduction of smart energy solutions into the Irish market.

Speaking at the show, Gerard Hamilton, Director, Patina Lighting said: "Our mission is to provide the latest and most advanced energy-efficient lighting technology in order to help reduce energy costs and CO2 emissions. Winning the 'Product of the Show' award recognises the technology and innovation that our team has worked to develop and I'm extremely proud to have received this Award. Patina Lighting will continue to innovate and deliver energy efficient solutions for our customers and assist them in reducing their carbon footprint."

Exhibitors at the Energy Show included businesses supplying energy efficiency products, the latest sustainable building products, electric vehicles among many others. This year's event also saw the introduction of a new International Markets Area which facilitated Irish enterprise and business in foreign markets such as China, Brazil, Argentina and Europe.

SEAI Chief Executive, Dr. Brian Motherway said: "More than three thousand business people visited the Energy Show over the two days showing how vibrant this sector is for enterprise and innovation. The feedback from exhibitors at this year’s Show indicates that a lot of good business and strong leads have been developed which is what the Energy Show is all about. The International Markets Area also opened up new doors for many, allowing Irish companies to look to new foreign markets."
