The Department is seeking proposals from potential private sector partners to work in partnership to develop commercial/business, leisure, residential, retail and tourism/culture mixed-use sites in the Library/Press Quarter and the Clifton Street Gateway.
Minister McCausland said: "The Northside of the city centre is a richly historic and important part of our city which has been neglected for too long. It is another gateway to the city and has a role to play in revitalising the city. These plans will complement development proposals for the University of Ulster's York Street Campus and the Royal Exchange project and follows a similar approach to the redevelopment of Laganside."

The Minister continued: "The clear message that the Department is sending out is that Belfast is open for business. The NI Executive is committed to a revitalised and successful city centre in the long term in order to improve the prosperity and quality of life for everyone who lives, works and enjoys leisure time in the city. I hope that our commitment will be matched by robust and imaginative proposals from the private sector in response to our Northside brief."
