The work is due to begin on 26 February 2013 between the junctions at Strand Road and Northland Road and will last for four days.
The Minister said: "Following the recent refurbishment work to the footways and street lighting funded by the Department of Social Development, I am pleased to announce my Department's contribution to the enhancement of this historic area of the city. I would ask for the patience and co-operation of both residents and road users for the duration of this very necessary work."

To help minimise any inconvenience to the travelling public and local businesses, the majority of this work is programmed to be completed using overnight closures.
Between 26 February 2013 and 1 March 2013 works on Clarendon Street will commence each evening from 7.00pm and continue until 6.00am the next morning. During these night time closures all traffic will be diverted to Asylum Road and Gt. James Street. The scheme is expected to be completed on 1 March 2013.
