Preparatory work has already started at Beragh Water Bridge, which carries the B46 Cooley Road over the Cloughfin River, on 14 January. However the work will have no impact on the travelling public until temporary traffic signals are erected, when some minor delays will be anticipated.

Roads Service hope to complete the work in June 2013 however works are dependent on weather conditions. Roads Service will keep the public informed of any change to the programme.
The Minister said: "The bridge widening scheme at Beragh Water Bridge which carries the B46 Cooley Road over the Cloughfin River will provide a footway connection between McFarland Terrace on the Cooley Road to the east of Beragh and the town’s Main Street.
"Currently, there are no footways on the bridge. By widening the bridge, the scheme will allow footways to be provided to both sides of the road. This will be facilitated by extending the arches of the structure. The widened structure will be clad in masonry and will retain a similar appearance to that of the old bridge."
