Work To Begin On Resurfacing Scheme In Portadown

Regional Development Minister Danny Kennedy has announced a £150,000 major resurfacing scheme for the Tandragee Road, Portadown.

The work is due to begin on Monday 21 January between Brackagh Moss Road and Mahon Road.

To help minimise disruption to road users and to meet strict Health & Safety Regulations, the road will be closed to through traffic while work is ongoing. In order to minimise disruption to traffic and to maintain the safety of road users and general public, the road will be closed to through traffic for a period of two weeks from Monday 21 January to Saturday 2 February inclusive.

The work is expected to be complete by 2 February 2013.

The Minister said: "This scheme is a significant investment in the local roads network. Roads Service has made every effort to manage these necessary works to minimise inconvenience to the public.

"Motorists, however, should be aware that some delays can be expected and they should allow additional time when planning journeys."

Whilst the work is in progress, traffic from Portadown will be diverted via Brackagh Moss Road, Brackagh Road and Tandragee Road. Traffic travelling towards Portadown will be diverted via Mahon Road and Armagh Road. These diversion routes will be clearly signed to assist road users.
