Dublin Bay North Labour Party TD Seán Kenny has condemned the latest comments by Priory Hall developer Tom McFeely.
"Mr. McFeely was quoted in today's papers doing little more than whinging about how he is 'down to his last €1,000'. I find that hard to believe given how he has been able to go to court and fight cases on such a frequent basis. High Court and Supreme Court cases like the ones he is fighting are not cheap, as getting legal expertise to assist you is expensive. I'd also note that he was on the receiving end of a lot of questions about properties he owns that he did not declare.
"Mr McFeely has been whinging - I can think of no other word for it - that he was the victim of what he calls a "media circus" and has been showing newspaper reports of his eviction from his huge Ailesbury Road mansion to back this up. I was totally taken aback when he said that could not remember the British, even during the famine, showboating when taking property.
"Just what planet does Mr. McFeely live on? Because of his workmanship, there are people not living in the homes that they paid for - he may not have shown up with a bailiff to throw them out - but the shoddy workmanship of Priory Hall has ensured they are evicted by poor housing standards. Never mind the hackneyed excuse of 'the Brits' - what about 'cowboy builders'?"
