The event, organised by the National Farmers Union (NFU), will give farmers the opportunity to learn more about staying safe on the farm.
Kevin McDowell, Head of NIE Health, Safety and Environment, believes that this event will be an opportunity to meet local farmers and remind them to be aware of the dangers of electricity equipment. He said: "Every year members of the agricultural community or their contractors are injured or killed due to accidental contact with overhead electricity lines. With careful planning every incident of accidental contact with NIE equipment can be avoided. We will use this event to remind farmers that before they cut hedgerows, trim trees, spray crops or cut silage, they should plan their work carefully to avoid any damage to or contact with the electricity network.
