Coote Engineering Secures Orders Of Almost £1m

Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster has visited Coote Engineering in Ballygawley to congratulate the company on securing orders to the value of almost £1million in Saudi Arabia.

A family-run business, Coote specialises in the design and manufacture of machinery and moulds for the pre-cast concrete industry. It currently employs 28.

These orders are the company’s first ever from Saudi Arabia and follows its participation on a series of Invest Northern Ireland export workshops developed specifically for the Materials Handling Sector.

Congratulating the company, Arlene Foster said: "Like many businesses, Coote was hit by the economic downturn but the company has worked hard to identify new opportunities and to broaden its customer base.

"Winning these orders for machinery that was developed with research and development support from Invest Northern Ireland, is a mark of the resilience and enterprise of Coote Engineering. The firm has also taken advantage of Invest NI’s support to help it develop and market its products and, with a new strategic plan in place, is now focusing on the longer term development of the business and anticipating a period of profitable growth.

"Coote Engineering is an example of how businesses, by proactively seeking out new markets, can respond positively to the current economic challenges. Invest Northern Ireland’s Boosting Business campaign has been put in place to help companies to do that by supporting product and skills development, exporting activity and job creation."

Coote Engineering is already exporting its range of standard and customised machinery to Finland, Sweden, Norway, France, Turkey, Spain, and the United States.
