Donnelly Group Creates New Jobs In Derry Expansion

One of Northern Ireland's biggest car retailers is creating 25 new jobs in a two million pound investment at Campsie on the outskirts of Londonderry.

The jobs on offer include technical and sales staff and the managing director of the company, Donnelly and Taggart, Houston Taggart revealed that the development could be the start of even more investment at the Campsie site over the next few years.

"We are already talking to a number of manufacturers and we believe we could create another 50 jobs over the next five years," he said.

And the expansion also means a big boost for the local economy with more than 90pc of the construction work on the site over the past six months carried out by local firms.

"We believe in bringing our services to every part of Northern Ireland. It’s a testament to our staff that we are in a position to expand and take on more employees," said Mr.Taggart.

The Donnelly Group now employs 550 people throughout Northern Ireland and the workforce has more than doubled over the past nine years.

Donnelly and Taggart have brought their Fiat dealership to Eglinton for the first time and Suzuki have also joined the list of showrooms on the expanding site. The New Suzuki Showroom is a welcome addition to the multi-franchise site. Toyota was already on the site but now have a new state of the art facility in a major expansion.
