Former Gunnebo man, Patrick Doyle, a seasoned management professional in the lifting sector, has become the majority shareholder and Managing Director of WH Scott Lifting (Dublin).
Founded in 1887 and the oldest and most respected lifting company in Ireland, WH Scott now has one of the most experienced and well respected MD’s running its new Dublin HQ, to complement the already successful Belfast HQ across the border in Northern Ireland.
The Northern Ireland operation continues to be run by another seasoned pro in the lifting sector, Bertie Seaton, who will work hand in hand with Patrick to ensure that the joint Belfast and Dublin operations make the most of their new economies of scale, added geographic advantage and enhancements in business skillsets and networking opportunities.
Patrick's move into the major shareholder's role effectively sees him take charge of his own company for the first time in his career, a challenge that he is both enjoying and relishing. Moving across to WH Scott with him are his core management team from Juli Lifting Europe, where he was formerly MD, including Anthony Franey; Chris Sheehy and Katherine Maclean.
"Despite global economic uncertainties, we believe WH Scott Lifting has a fantastic future," said Patrick. "We have the right people, great headquarter operations in Dublin and Belfast and above all a service and product that we believe is second to none.
"We are in the process of identifying additional niche markets that will help accelerate our expansion and diversification strategy, to plan and prepare for whatever economic factors can throw at us. Our core business remains strong and the name of WH Scott Lifting looks set to flourish for another 100 years and beyond."
